I couldn’t understand why there was sudden interest in my Podcast interview with Ian “Leroy” Copeland, a show I published on June 2, 2005. I was shocked when I learned that Ian passed away on Tuesday, May 23, of cancer (see Sad News by Ian’s brother Miles, and Ian Copeland dead Tuesday at a young 57 years).

Most of the music I listened to while growing up was made accessible by the Copeland Brothers. Thank you, Ian. My music collection exists because of your role in the industry.

I’m the one who posted your Ian interview link to Ian’s forum yesterday. I really appreciate you having this available for everyone to hear - especially now in this trying time.

Thanks from all Ian fans and friends for your contribution to the world of Ian Copeland.

You’re welcome. I am a huge fan of the Copeland Brothers and their role in the music industry. Ian was a great interview… happy, energetic, patient. I loved being able to speak with him.

I will try to re-release the show with improved audio quality and higher sample rates. I’ll also see if I cut out any gems for the sake of keeping the show under 30 minutes. If I did, I will release those as a separate show.

Best wishes to the Copeland family. My thoughts are with you.
