CBC launches official blog

Who says the CBC isn’t agile?

Long known for it’s award winning radio and television programs, and a recently expanded catalog of 23 Podcast programs, the CBC has launched an official (not officious) blog, www.insidethecbc.com.

This could be a new age of influence for the CBC; a chance to be heard by, and hear (hopefully to listen to), the community at large.  If done right, this blog could change the way decision makers within the CBC and the government look at, and fund, the corporation.

I had beers with Rob Walch, Michael Goeghegan, Elisabeth Lewin, Paul Colligan and Tim Street last evening. All of us are here in San Francisco for the Corporate Podcasting Summit. I had never met them prior to last night, and, with the exception of knowing about Podcasters Across Borders, none had heard of me. That didn’t matter. It was like long time friends getting together. We are all passionate about Podcasting, technology and the possibilities of both.

Air Show Ottawa 2006 takes place this weekend. I went to the media event thinking that the air show was about fancy machines and fancier aerobatics. It turns out to be equally about preserving aviation history and honouring those who gave their lives in combat.

  • Preparing to take off
  • Interview with Jim Terry, owner of the Pacific Prowler
  • Interview with Michael Potter, vintage aircraft collector

I have remastered original Electric Sky episodes 8 (Soundseeing tour of my appearance on CBC radio) and 9 (Ian Copeland and Quarter Life). The original files were sampled using settings that sacrificed audio quality for file size. The new files are in high quality MP3 format.
