High School is part of the difficult process of growing up. Imagine how much more difficult it would be if you made the realization that you were gay at a time when being gay was anything but socially acceptable. Michael Ain was stronger, and more selfless, than that.
Because of a hole I dug for myself in a conversation with my wife, I needed to find a media expert to make sense of my argument. I found a Journalist in Residence in the School of Journalism and Communications at Carleton Univeristy, Madelaine Drohan. Madelaine is an award-winning author and journalist who has covered business and politics in Canada, Europe and Africa during a twenty-five-year career.

I was introduced to the music of Sonny Landreth when South of I10 came out in 1995. I played that CD with stunning regularity that year and I will always remember that the hosts of a Christmas party I was at had it in their collection. Oddly, I ran into one of that party’s hosts just a few hours before Sonny’s performance at this year’s Ottawa Bluesfest.

Sorry about the delay in putting out a show. I have been busier than I expected to be, and my week was centered around ZZ Top at the Ottawa Bluesfest. More on that festival when I publish a show next week.
